Terms of Service

Effective date: July 9, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of SolarPayback at solarpaybackreport.com and your purchase of the report we provide (an installer-independent rooftop-solar payback report for US homeowners). By using this site or buying a report, you agree to these Terms.

1. What you are buying

SolarPayback sells a one-time informational report for $15. The report compiles and presents a solar payback estimate for the ZIP code, electric bill, and roof and sun quality you supply, drawing on public solar-resource and electricity-rate data.

2. The report is an informational estimate, not a quote or professional advice

The report is provided for general informational purposes only. It is an estimate, not a professional service, and it is not, and must not be relied on as, a solar quote, or professional, legal, financial, tax, engineering, or real-estate advice. It does not create any professional-client relationship. It is not a binding quote from an installer, and it is not a guarantee of your actual system size, cost, savings, or payback period. It is not a substitute for a site-specific quote from a licensed installer or advice from a qualified expert. You are solely responsible for any decision you make, and you should obtain a proper installer quote and consult an appropriately qualified professional before acting on anything in the report.

3. Solar-specific limits: incentives, taxes, and net metering

The federal, state, and utility incentives that affect solar economics change over time and vary by location and by whether you own, lease, or finance a system. The report reflects our understanding of the applicable rules as of the date it is generated, including that the federal residential solar tax credit (26 U.S.C. §25D) ended for systems placed in service after December 31, 2025. Nothing in the report is tax advice. You must independently confirm any federal, state, or utility incentive with a qualified tax professional, and confirm your net-metering terms and electricity rate directly with your own utility, before relying on any figure. Incentive programs, rate schedules, and net-metering rules can change without notice.

4. No warranty

The report and this site are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We draw on third-party and public data sources (such as NREL, the EIA, the IRS, and DSIRE) that may contain errors, gaps, or out-of-date figures, and we do not warrant that the report is accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SolarPayback, its operators, and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the site or the report. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the report or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid for the report ($15).

6. Refunds

Because the report is a digital product delivered immediately, refunds are provided for delivery failure, for example, if you paid but did not receive your report, or the report could not be generated for the details you supplied. If your report failed to arrive or cannot be produced, email [email protected] and we will re-deliver it or refund your purchase. If you believe a specific figure in your report is wrong, contact us; we will investigate and, where a delivery or generation fault is on our side, make it right.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: resell, republish, or redistribute the report as your own product; scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract content from the site; attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site or its infrastructure; or use the site or report for any unlawful purpose. The report is licensed to you for your own personal use.

8. Intellectual property

The site, its design, its text, and the report format are owned by SolarPayback and protected by intellectual-property laws. Underlying public data referenced in the report belongs to its respective sources. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the report you purchase for your own purposes.

9. Third-party services

Payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe's terms. Analytics are provided by Fathom Analytics. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services, though we choose them with your privacy in mind (see our Privacy Policy).

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and, to the extent applicable, the state in which the operator of SolarPayback is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute will be brought in the courts located there.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Your continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
